By registering for and participating in any event conducted by The Event Crew Limited, I confirm that I am physically and medically fit to participate, and that I have the skills and experience appropriate for the event I have entered. I acknowledge that open water swimming involves inherent risks including drowning, exhaustion, hypothermia, marine life, adverse weather, tides and currents, collisions, equipment failure and medical emergencies. I voluntarily accept and assume all such risks. To the fullest extent permitted by law I release The Event Crew Limited, its directors, employees, contractors, volunteers, officials, medical personnel, sponsors, landowners and local authorities from any liability arising from my participation, whether or not caused by negligence. I agree to disclose any medical condition that may affect my safety, and I authorise event and medical personnel to administer any emergency treatment they consider necessary, at my own cost. I understand that safety systems are provided as assistance only and do not guarantee my safety, and that officials may require me to stop, withdraw or leave the course at any time. No refund is payable if I am withdrawn for safety, medical or operational reasons. All entry fees are non-refundable. Distances and courses are approximate and may change for safety or operational reasons. I grant The Event Crew Limited the right to use my name, image, likeness and results for promotional and media purposes, and I consent to my registration details being shared with authorised event service providers including the timing provider. If I am under 16 years of age, my parent or guardian has read and accepted these terms on my behalf. These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
